Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is based on the true story of Jamie Campbell, who had a hard time in high school and was teased for his sexuality, but dreamed of going to prom in drag. His story was first told in the documentary Jamie – Drag Queen at Sixteen, and then adapted into the popular musical. The show tells the story of Jamie overcoming obstacles and bullies to become his true self – all to a banging soundtrack.[media_embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3mjSUeOg5g[/media_embed]
The production will open at Sydney Opera House on July 18, with a run until August 30.
From there it will spend September 2020 to February 2021 on the road, starting with Western Sydney from September 4 at the Sydney Coliseum Theatre West HQ; Wyong from September 28 at the Art House; Melbourne from October 9 at Arts Centre; Brisbane from November 13 at QPAC; Canberra from December 11 at Canberra Theatre Centre; Perth from January 22 at His Majesty’s Theatre; finishing in Adelaide from February 5 at Her Majesty’s Theatre.
