The Sydney Opera House Is Offering $21 Tickets To Select Shows Every Day Until March

I don’t care how long you have, or have not, lived in Sydney — seeing a show in the world famous Sydney Opera House is always a treat. This summer it’s even more of a treat, considering it could only cost you $21.
The Opera House has filled its summer program with some pure gold after 2020’s Covid shut down: a 25th anniversary production of Rent, opera classics, cabaret, live comedy, 5SOS (lol). And now you can nab tickets to select shows for just $21.
How does it work?
Every day at midday, $21 tickets will go on sale for a performance, event or experience that’ll be happening the next day. All you need to do is be on the website at 12pm and get in pretty bloody quick, as it’s a first come, first served deal. You can get four tickets at a time though, so bring your friends.
So no, you have no way of knowing what’ll go on sale each day, but my god I’m crossing my fingers for Rent. Although, after a year like 2020 where fun was not allowed, any vaguely normal experience is worth $21 to me. In fact, an Opera House show would be a very reasonable 2021 Aussie bucket list item.
As for other iconic events happening in Sydney, get in quick to experience the Sydney Harbour BridgeClimb in a whole new way, with Indigenous climb leaders showing you the significance of the harbour through the eyes of the oldest surviving culture in the world.
There’s also a (socially distanced) food truck festival in the Domain right now, with bars, live music and unbeatable views.
