Can’t Afford To See ‘Hamilton’ In Sydney? Here’s How You Can Score $10 Tickets
If you’re reading this, we don’t need to tell you that Hamilton has finally arrived in Australia – or that tickets to see the award-winning Broadway hit are pricey. Thankfully, there’s a Hamilton lottery workaround to cop tickets on the cheap.
With less than two weeks to go until the curtain lifts at the Sydney Lyric Theatre, there’s some great news for the poor-but-musically-inclined among us: The Hamilton Lottery.
Every week, $10 tickets for every performance of this hip-hop masterpiece are released through the lottery, which can only be accessed via the TodayTix app.
You’ll have to be disciplined to be in the running, though. Submit your entry through the app each Friday at precisely 12:01am for the next weeks’ performance period. It’s kicking off just after midnight tonight, for those playing at home.
Winners are then drawn each Thursday between 1-6pm – but you’ll only have one hour to claim tickets from the time that you’re notified or they’ll be offered to another lucky bugger.
This doesn’t mean you’e stuck flying solo, either. You can enter for a maximum of two seats, so make a friend’s year with this night out dubbed a “bona fide phenomenon“.
There’s just one caveat: winning tickets are non-transferable. For the love of God, make sure you can go for the week you’re entering as no one else can use your tickets otherwise.
