Africola
For lunch we made our way to Africola on East Terrace – a unique and visually exciting restaurant that recently celebrated its first birthday.
The amazing menu designed by chef Duncan Welgemoed sets out to incorporate flavours and techniques he grew up with in South Africa, while the colourful and enticing interior styling comes courtesy of James Brown.
The key feature is a kitchen that’s a part of the restaurant, smack bang in the middle of it and surrounded by a waist-high bench. Oh, and a super trendy bar that will leave you wide-eyed like a kid at Christmas.
Don’t forget to try Duncan’s mothers secret recipe hot sauce, and if you’re more adventurous than me, their specialty is a slow roasted cows head!
