This $160 Ice Cream Cone Is Topped With Gold And Edible Diamonds
Tipping the scales at a hefty 350g, the Billionaire’s Ice Cream is a dessert truly fit for a king. And, for the cool price of $160 (£99), you’d hope for your money’s worth.
Made with salted caramel gelato, a handmade waffle cone dipped in Madagascan dark chocolate, gelato spheres of mango, ginger and passionfruit, a Belgian white chocolate truffle filled with salted caramel sauce, and a raspberry sorbet macaroon decorated with white chocolate glaze and edible diamonds, the luxe dessert made its debut at Snowflake Gelato in London last week.
It also comes with a generous sprinkling of 24-karat gold leaf and a golden flake, for good measure, meaning you’ll have to wait around 15 minutes for the masterpiece to be assembled, but oh boy, is it worth it.
If you consider yourself a bit of a baller for sweets, you’ll find the over-the-top dessert at 400 Oxford Street, London. If you’d prefer to sample something more local (but equally outrageous), try Brisbane’s black soft serve or Auckland’s squid-shaped cones.
