The World’s New Longest Zip-Line Is Longer Than 28 Football Fields

World's longest zip-line, Dubai

If you’ve ever longed for the superpower of flight, the world’s longest zip-line has opened in the United Arab Emirates, where thrill-seekers will be able to ride the truly colossal zip-line from the tallest point on Jebel Jais Mountain.

Officially the world’s longest according to Guinness World Records, the zip-line is as long as 28 football fields stacked end-to-end – or around 2800m. To put it into perspective, that’s longer in distance than the highest point of Mount Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest mountain, which stands at 2200m tall.

It succeeds “The Monster” at Toro Verde Adventure Park in Puerto Rico by about 600m.

Those daring enough will be harnessed in a face-down position and strapped onto a cable weighing six tonnes 1900m above sea level, where they’ll reach speeds of up to 150km per hour. Sheesh.
