5 Of The Best Podcasts For Staying Entertained On Your Weekend Road Trips

Recently, on a VERY long solo road trip from Byron Bay back to Sydney, I discovered what everyone else has apparently known for a very long time — listening to podcasts definitely makes the trip feel faster. I don’t know if it’s science, but it’s certainly truth.

As I’m new to this podcast game, I feel like I’ve missed a lot of the main shows everyone is listening to, and am blindly searching my way around Spotify for something good. These are my top five picks for your next road trip, or even just a long drive.

#1 Jeans & A Nice Top

I absolutely suck at dating, and frankly, it’s nice to be seen by hosts Ashleigh Austen and Melissa Mason as they chat through modern dating (in a fun way, I swear).

This weekend is the perfect time to get on board actually, seeing as they’re teaming up with sustainable beauty and lifestyle brand, Ethique, for a special event broadcasting on the Clubhouse App this Sunday, May 2 at 6 pm.

#2 Let’s Not Meet

True crime fans listen up. Host Andrew Tate reads out listeners creepy stories about times they ALMOST found themselves in a lot of trouble. It’s creepy, but I’m also lowkey learning a lot about protecting myself from it.

#3 ABC Conversations

Ok, this one isn’t new or obscure, but can we just talk about how good ABC’s Conversations program is? I’m obsessed with getting a little snapshot into a million different areas of expertise. Of course, you can listen on the ABBC app, but they’re also on Spotify.

#4 Office Ladies

Hosted by Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey (aka Pam and Angela from The Office) this is a super fun one for fans of the show. Basically, they re-watch an episode of the show each week and give fun behind-the-scenes stories.

#5 Stuff You Missed in History Class

If we can’t travel the world, we may as well learn more about it as we travel our own country. This podcast takes a look at the greatest and strangest events in history around the world.
