Get A Taste Of Authentic Bush Tucker At One Of The Most Unique Food Events In Australia
One of the best celebrations of Kakadu‘s Indigenous cuisine, culture and country is back in 2021 after being cancelled last year.
Taste Of Kakadu is a self-described “bush food experience unlike anything else on Earth”. While in previous years it’s run a full 10-day program, this year it’s set up for the most unique long weekend of your Aussie life.

“Taste of Kakadu is not only a celebration of culture and cuisine, but an opportunity to recognise the conservation work being done in Kakadu National Park to protect the natural food sources which support the park’s Traditional Owners to continue to practice their culture on country,” said Kakadu National Park Visitor Services Manager, Anja Toms.

“Kakadu’s Traditional Owners have been living off the land for generations, and this festival gives visitors the chance to embrace the local culture and unique bush tucker of the region. Some of the ingredients that go into the cuisine on offer at Taste can only be found in the Top End”.
From 28 to 30 May 2021, you can expect hands-on workshops — including painting, women’s cultural weaving and men’s spear making — art markets, cooking demonstrations, live music and performances.

There’ll also be guided activities with Kakadu’s rangers — like a bush tucker tour at Mamukula Wetlands, and discovering the world’s oldest rock art and the region’s stories in a guided tour at Burrungkuy (Nourlangie).
