You’ve Gotta Eat This: Torchy’s Tacos
www.awol.com.au
What is it? Delicious, mouth-wateringly stuffed-to-the-brim messy-as Tex-Mex tacos.
Where can you get it? Torchy’s Tacos, which began as a humble food truck in Austin, Texas, and has since opened stand alone stores across the Lone Star State.
What’s in it? There’a a taco here for every inkling – from The American (crispy fried chicken with pineapple coleslaw, bacon, jack cheese, cilantro and pico de gallo), to The Independent (battered and fried portobello mushroom strips, refried black beans, corn, escabeche carrots, queso fresco, cilantro, avocado and ancho aioli), and even the Dirty Sanchez (Scrambled eggs, fried poblano chile, guacamole, escabeche carrots, shredded cheese and served with poblano sauce).
Is it good for you? There’s an option to “get it trashy” which means taking out any lettuce and adding more cheese, so no… it’s not that good for you.
How much does it cost? Prices range from $2.50 to $4.75 per taco, and these are seriously big tacos. Be warned: they might defeat you.
