The Melbourne Dog Lovers Show is by far the most joyous and delightful festival to hit our southern city, and makes just as good a reason as any to take a trip down there. I mean, how couldn’t you?
For the fifth year running, the Melbourne Dog Lovers Show will be celebrating, educating and demonstrating all things dog. There’ll be Instagram famous dogs, rescue dogs, Australian hero dogs, royal canine dogs. Big dogs, long dogs, happy dogs, fluffy dogs. Fur friends of all sizes and shapes will be gathered under one huge roof to hang out with their very best friends (you). Can you imagine the wall to wall joy abounding from every angle?
The show is running from May 5–7 in the Royal Exhibition Building with a bunch of activities for you to take part in. There will be talks hosted by Dr Katrina Warren, Dr Harry Cooper and celebrity dog trainer Peta Clarke. The Australian Working Dog Rescue International (AWDRI) will return to the show to educate attendees, and Docdogs will entertain with their long distance aquatic long jump.
There’ll even be a Breed showcase, demonstrating the different breeds of dog. Much like a pageant show, but way more fun.
And of course, because that’s why we’re all going in the first place, there will be a Pat-A-Pooch zone so you can pat, play and cuddle to your hearts content.
We personally can’t wait for this event to roll around. Day tickets for the event are $25 for an adult, and you can buy them here.
If you happen to miss the Melbourne event, the Dog Lovers show will also be making its way to Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland later in the year.
