The Best Cities In Europe According To Frequent Travellers

Each year travel gurus Travel + Leisure poll their frequent flying audience about their favourite destinations for their World’s Best Awards survey. As it turns out, Europe is still an easy access point for many of the world’s movers. But pinning down the best cities in Europe? That’s gotta be a hard task.

It seems capital cities were big hits across the continent, but let’s not disregard those smaller destinations that offer unique and off-the-beaten-track experiences. Barcelona and Rome came out swinging, but the top of the list was topped by Italy’s scenic city of Florence. Florence, a humble delight in the boot’s northern region, is flanked by sun-drenched fields and full of architecture and pasta you’ll want to write home about.

Other quiet achievers on T+L‘s list were Spain’s San Sebastián and Seville, reaching the #4 and #6 spots respectively. There was also a shining salute to Poland’s medieval city Kraków, which beat out Budapest, Istanbul and Venice to the top five.
