We’re Going Down The Rabbit Hole At This Alice In Wonderland Tea Party In Sydney

Mad Hatters Tea Party sydney

Is there any movie more perfectly suited to a themed brunch than Alice in Wonderland? If you prefer your Sunday brunches to come with a dash of madness and magic, the Mad Hatter’s tea party and all its guests are coming to Sydney.

The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party by Beyond Cinema, the fun-loving creators of immersive movie experiences, will recreate the iconic tea party scene from Alice in Wonderland. It’ll be taking over the bottom of a rabbit hole somewhere inside Sydney’s Centennial Park. Okay fine, it’s really happening above ground at Centennial Homestead. Either way, it’s going down on August 4 so put it in your calendars.

The Alice in Wonderland-themed brunch will be run by the real-life Mad Hatter (or someone dressed as him at least) and you can expect to see a lot of other familiar faces from around Wonderland, including Alice herself, of course.

Guests are encouraged to dress up in their best and maddest costume. When you buy a ticket, you’ll be assigned a character from the world of Wonderland, and let us tell you now — people get pretty into the fancy dress part of these parties.

Mad brunchers will have the option of attending one of two sessions — an early morning brunch at 10am, or an adults-only sesh at 1.30pm. You can grab tickets for either session for $83, which also gets you a glass of sparkling on arrival and unlimited tea and coffee. All the food that society agrees should be served at a high tea will be plated up, like finger sandwiches, scones served with jam and cream, sliders on Brioche buns, smoked salmon with cream cheese, apple tarts, macaroons, cheesecake and more. I should have eaten lunch before writing this because now I’m a hungry girl.

There’ll also be all kinds of live entertainment, like you can expect from any event organised by Beyond Cinema. By the looks of last year’s event, there’ll be lawn games, themed activities and live music, to name a few.

You can get tickets for the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party now. It joins an ever-growing list of Sydney brunches, like the Game of Thrones banquet, the Harry Potter brunch and the ’80s-themed roller disco party.
