I don’t know about you, but I was a kid when I became obsessed with Harry Potter. The naughtiest drink I mixed myself was a half-Milo, half milk monstrosity. Now that I’m an adult, I’ve moved onto boozier drinks, but I’m still equally as obsessed with the boy who lived. So thank my lucky stars for The Wizard’s Den, a Harry Potter-inspired bar where you can brew your own boozy potions.
Sign me up and seal the deal with a wand flourish that Hermione would be proud of.

The Wizard’s Den is an immersive and totally magical pop-up bar coming back to Sydney’s Wonderland Bar for Semester III. Witches, wizards and Harry Potter fans alike — pick up your wand, put on your robes and go back to potions class in June.

The ingredients are all supplied, but first, you’ll have to find them. Translate Ancient Draconic text, solve riddles and perform spells to unlock your ingredients, then read from a spellbook to mix everything together.

“Our bar looks amazing and has been hand-carved by our craftsman,” Alex Wregg, writer and creative director of The Wizard’s Den told AWOL. “The production design team has sourced strange and magical objects from all over and our special effects people have worked some wizardry.”

Wands, robes and a mug of mead are provided on entry. There’s also a bar on-site if you want a couple of extra drinks or some food to pair with your creations.
The Wizard’s Den is running in Sydney, Wonderland Bar on 24 Bayswater Road, Potts Point, from now until September 30. You can find your tickets for $40 each right here.
