Slytherins Unite: The Harry Potter Studio Tour Is Celebrating ‘The Bad House’

For those Potterheads sorted into Slytherin – sorry about it, go Ravenclaw – Harry Potter attractions can feel very Gryffindor-focused. (It makes sense when the three central characters are from the lion house.)

Well you Slytherins, it’s your moment in the sun. The Harry Potter Studio Tour in London has just announced a months-long celebration of Slytherin.

For the first time ever, you’ll be able to explore the Slytherin common room, as featured in The Chamber of Secrets when Harry and Ron disguise themselves as Crabbe and Goyle to get some information out of Draco Malfoy.

You’ll be able to see the couch and fireplace where Ron’s transformation begins to wear off. The common room will also be dressed with the tapestries and props that appeared in the film, making you Slytherins feel right at home in your dank dungeon home.

The Great Hall on the tour has also had a makeover, with Slytherin banners and colours decorating it, as though the snake house has won the House Cup (except for above the teachers’ table, where Gryffindor banners will make a callback to the end of Philosopher’s Stone).

Slytherin costumes will also be on display in an homage to the most famous witches and wizards from the house, including the Malfoy family, Severus Snape and, of course, Tom Riddle/Voldemort himself.

A Celebration of Slytherin will open on Friday April 3 and will be on display until Sunday September 6 at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter.

Take your moment in the light now Slytherins, before you crawl back to your dungeon.
