An ‘Orange Is The New Black’ Restaurant Has Popped Up In Singapore

We love a good pop culture and food mash-up (hello Saved By The Bell diner) but this newest pop-up might just take the cake – or should we say pie?
In anticipation of Orange Is The New Black‘s fourth season premier this weekend (so soon!) Netflix will be transforming the OverEasy diner in sunny Singapore into Litchfield Penitentiary’s iconic cafeteria.
On June 16 and 17, the Orange Is The New Black pop-up will be serving “home-cooked prison grub” on plastic trays for uber fans of the show. There’s no word yet on whether orange/beige jumpsuits will be mandatory.
While you’re probably questioning the rationale behind the idea – I mean, prison food isn’t the most inviting dining options – the menu is a little more gourmet than you might expect.
Litchfield’s menu has been updated by chef Bjorn Shen who has dutifully transformed the unappealing Nutraloaf into a delectable five-star main course. Your guess is as good as mine as to how he managed to get that one around Red…
The pop-up is already sold out for both days, but limited walk-ins are available. But remember, no cutting in line.
