The show has now opened and begun its exclusive run in Melbourne (so take this as a prompt, the rest of Australia, and start booking your flights).
Anticipation has been steadily building since the Australian version of the production was first announced way back in 2017, but it’s now reaching fever pitch, helped in no small part by the announcement that you can nab yourself some super cheap tickets to the show.
That’s right: you’re not going to have to bankrupt yourself in order to get some of the best seats in the house. Instead, all you need to do is enter the show’s “Friday Forty”.
First established for the London production of The Cursed Child and continued during the Broadway run, the Friday Forty is an online ballot, open every Friday for the next week’s shows.
Winners of the raffle will have the opportunity to pay a mere $40 for one of 40 tickets. Better still, the seats aren’t way up in the nosebleed section – you’ll be able to get up close and personal, sitting in some of the best seats in the house.
The ballot closes at 1pm each Friday, so you’d do well to get to the website early for best results. Head to the Cursed Child website for more details, and for a chance to enter.
