Dreams apparently do come true, Potterheads: you can now go to a literal Hogwarts camp at a castle in France.
This makeshift Hogwarts, which will be based on the first Harry Potter Philosopher’s Stone novel, will take over Bourgougnague’s Château de Jolibert in the idyllic south-west of France, and will be spreading the magic for an entire weekend of wizardry. This is definitely one to add to your (probably already huge) Harry Potter bucket list.
No need to BYO wand. Once you arrive at Hogwarts, you – the student – will be welcomed to Diagon Alley where you’ll be able to purchase all your magical supplies for your classes throughout the weekend.
Welcome drinks take place at the Leaky Cauldron, but you’ll probably want to take it easy – it’s a school night, after all.[related_articles]31220,13956,31837,24718[/related_articles]
Post-drinks, there’s a Sorting Ceremony (cross your fingers and toes that you’ll end up in Gryffindor), followed by a tour of the schooling site. And before you ask, no, you’re not allowed in the forest, because reasons.
Classes and quidditch will run throughout the weekend with exams and the final match taking place on the Sunday.
The magical weekend will take place May 25 to 28, 2017. Tickets cost around $265AUD, which includes all food and accommodation, and bookings are available here. Time to start planning your Euro adventure? Just keep in mind that the event will only cater to Fluent French speakers, so it might be time to brush up on your language skills.
