Big W’s New Summer Range Is Perfect For Anyone Who Absolutely Froths A Bit Of Rattan

Ever since the weather warmed up, I’ve been more desperate than ever to be by the beach as much as possible. Maybe it’s because I grew up by the ocean, or maybe it’s all that time cooped up inside during winter. While packing up and moving beachside isn’t always practical, decorating your home to be beachy boho chic can be — especially when the price is right.
Enter Big W and their new summer range with everything from quilt covers to cushions to brighten up your pad without blowing the budget.
Personally, I like keeping my main pieces fairly neutral so they look great, never go out of style, and it’s easy to switch out smaller items like cushions or throws when you feel like a little refresh. That’s why the resurgence of rattan this year has made me very happy.
Big W dropped a whole rattan collection that we could actually afford earlier this year, with the Hamilton Queen bedhead ($149) and the Kodu Hamilton Rattan Bedside Table ($49) making a comeback for summer.
A couple of difference floral bedspreads were in the collection, my favourite being this House & Home Percale Quilt Cover Set in Rustic Blooms starting at $32 is the stand out, with that warm mustard colour making it pop.
As far as those cute cushions and throws to change the vibe of your home without having to do a complete overhaul, I’m loving these simple Tassel Trim Cushions for $15. Chuck on a matching Shalini Tassel Throw ($29) and you’re laughing.
Just to really complete those beach feels, they’ve also released some very cute printed folding chairs for $29 and block coloured ones for $15 and some blow up pool toys for around $10, my personal favourite being in the shape of a burger.
Personally, I feel like I’ll combine a few of these pieces with a few bits of furniture from Kmart’s new outdoor range and I’ll be the budget style Queen.
