Juggernaut beauty retailer Mecca is giving away hundreds of free plants this weekend as a verdant installation comes to a close.
If you’re keen for beautiful skin as well as being surrounded by beautiful plant life, then you best head to Sydney’s Mecca CBD store this weekend.
The four-storey flagship beauty megastore – the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere – is currently hosting a plant-filled installation on its ground floor for the launch of its first MECCALIFE wellness campaign.
When it’s all over, Mecca plans to give away the plant babies for free on a first-come, first-serve basis. We love no waste. We also love new plants.
Plants on offer
The installation is courtesy of florist Candy MT and features hundreds of leafy gems, including air-purifying plants and even edible herbs. There’s everything from clematis to thyme, salvias to sage, rosemary and rosehip.
“Swishy she-oaks and swooning salvias. Honey sun-soaked rosemary and pink liquorice scented agastace. Moments of juncus reed and sarracenia blend with sculptural juniperus outcrops,” they explain on their Instagram.
Things to know
The installation is being dismantled on Sunday, May 23 from 10am. Only the first 200 customers on the day will nab a plant, and they’ll only be allowed one per person.
In case you’ve never seen it, Mecca Sydney’s George St store is located at 436 George Street, Sydney.
