Back in the day, owning Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse was the ultimate flex. All true ’90s kids secretly wanted to sleep in a real life version of the pastel pink palace — and now, thanks to Airbnb, you can.
To celebrate Barbie’s 60th birthday, Mattel has partnered with Airbnb to offer one lucky Barbie fan (and three of their closest friends) the chance to spend two nights inside the famous Malibu Dreamhouse.
The real-life replica of Barbie’s Dreamhouse in Malibu, California is available for a one-time-only reservation. Fans who want to secure a stay in to the mansion will have to book the listing on Airbnb on October 23 at 11:00am PDT. That’s October 24 at 5am for everyone here in Aus.[media_embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ryhq7JG9mwI[/media_embed]
If you’re the lucky person who locks in the reservation, you and up to three friends will be bound for the Dreamhouse for a two-night stay from October 27 to October 29.
The three-story mansion has its own infinity pool overlooking the ocean, an indoor cinema and a walk-in closet filled with outfits from Barbie’s prolific career over the years, like her stint as a Nascar Driver, her time as an Astronaut, and her reign as CEO Boss.
You’ll also get to hang out with a rollcall of strong women during your stay. Guests will be treated to a private fencing lesson from Ibtihaj Muhammad, the first American woman to compete in the Olympics while wearing a hijab — who even has a Barbie made in her likeness. Chrissy Teigen and Kim Kardashian’s celebrity hairstylist will be coming round, and you’ll get a makeover by hairstylists from Mane Addicts Creator Collective.
Cook an exquisite meal with renowned chef Gina Clarke-Helm, and, if you can bare the thought of leaving the mansion, you’ll also be taken on a guided tour of the Columbia Memorial Space Center by pilot and aerospace engineer Jill Meyers.
In honour of Barbie’s 60th anniversary, the stay is available for US$60 (AU$87.29) per night. Only one person will manage to secure the booking, but if you miss out, you could always rent Reese Witherspoon’s house from Big Little Lies on Airbnb instead.
