How many Christmas movies and Christmas TV-show specials have you watched where the main characters get locked inside a department store. How many times while watching those movies/shows have you spent the whole time thinking how amazing that would be? For me, it’s a lot.
Well, Melbourne (and anyone willing to travel to Melbourne for this I guess, which should be everyone), now’s your chance.
To celebrate the 65th year of Myer’s iconic Christmas windows, Airbnb and the Myer Bourke Street flagship store have partnered up for one an overnight stay on December 23rd, and the ultimate sleep-in-a-department-store experience for a mere $65.
It’s not just a mere sleepover either. You get chaperones, who happen to also be Santa’s elves. You get a two bedroom family apartment (that is normally the Personal Shopping Suites) and you get a private chef. A private chef who just happens to be Masterchef contestant, Khanh Ong.
Honestly, they had me at private chef, but then you also get celebrity stylist Lana Wilkinson, a bedtime story read by the narrator of this year’s Chrissie window display, Eddie Perfect (which is less weird when you remember there’s room for two kids).
You’ll get a decadent Chrissie feast dinner and a gourmet breakfast banquet, an after-dark private tour of the Myer Christmas windows with the mastermind behind them.
Finally (drum roll please), you’ll get to participate in a ‘toy grab’ for charity — aka you’ll get to grab as many toys as you can in five minutes which will then be donated to the Salvation Army, so more people can join in the Christmas cheer.
The Myer experience is available to book from 12.01pm on Saturday, December 19, right here.
