Want to feel old? It’s more than 17 years since the first Harry Potter film was released. But let’s be clear, our love of this successful book and film series hasn’t faltered in the slightest over the years. In fact, it’s probably growing stronger now the nostalgia’s kicked in.
Enter the next addition to your (already huge) Harry Potter bucket list: Singapore’s Harry Potter-themed café.
Platform 1094 is a café located in the north-east of Singapore and is the second restaurant by FFL Fresh Fruits Lab, who opened a laboratory-themed restaurant and bar in the city in 2013.
The café features a Harry Potter-inspired menu and decor that’ll delight any JK Rowling fan. The interior is decked out with chandeliers, long wooden tables and chairs decorated with stags. And, if you’ve left your Hogwarts robes at home, Platform 1084 also have witch’s hats and wands on hand to make it a truly authentic experience.

Magic-themed starters, main dishes, desserts and cocktails are available: there’s the Giant’s Breakfast (their take on the classic Big Breakfast), the Black Magic (a black sesame panna cotta dessert with squid ink and mango cream) and the non-alcoholic Elixir of Life (made from tonic water, sprite and lime sorbet).
But the pièce de résistance has to be the Mr Lich’s Flaming Brew cocktail, which was surely inspired by the Goblet of Fire. It’s made with curaçao liqueur, lemonade and Bacardi rum and is set on fire in front of guests. It’s then sprinkled with cinnamon powder which creates sparks and flames to swirl right in front of your eyes.
If that’s not real magic, I don’t know what is.
Platform 1094 is located on the corner of 1094 Serangoon Road (hence the name) and is open now.
