What is it? A seafood dish that’s less about the chilli and more about the incredible sweet and savoury sauce that goes with it.
Where can you get it? A traditional Singaporean dish, chilli crabs are also served around Malaysia too.
What’s in it? Traditional dishes use mud crabs as the fish of choice, with the sauce consisting of a sweet yet savoury mix of tomato and chilli. It’s not really that spicy though – the sauce is gravy-like in texture, and super rich in flavour.
Is it good for you? Totally. The best part is you get to eat it with your hands – the sauce goes everywhere but it’s super tasty and the meat is so succulent that you won’t even mind.
How much is it? Authentic chilli crab shouldn’t break the bank.
