You Should Definitely Go To This Harry Potter Cafe In Argentina

If you’re a fan of Harry Potter (we’re going out on a limb here and guessing that if you clicked this, you are) then you’re probably well aware that J.K. Rowling’s magical world is ever expanding (and seemingly never ending) for a book series that ended almost nine years ago. And while we wait in eager anticipation for the next instalment (the Harry Potter And The Cursed Child not-really-a-book), a collection of fan-made spaces have been popping up left, right and centre in an effort to celebrate this enigmatic series as well as give thanks to our mighty HP overlord J.K.
There was that Harry Potter themed bar in Toronto and even a hotel that bares a striking resemblance to Hogwarts that popped up in the UK. And now we have a cafe in Argentina dedicated to the book series.
Félix Felicis & Co. is located in the hip neighbourhood of Palermo in Buenos Aires, and although you won’t be seeing wands, robes or pints of butterbeer around here, there is an inherently Harry Potter feel about it all.
Like the name, do you get it? Felix Felicis, a.k.a. Liquid Luck, is a magical potion that makes the drinker lucky for a short period of time. You may remember it from this particularly charming scene from Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince.
There’s subtle nods to the books and subsequent films all over the place. The cafe’s logo is an owl, they’ve been known to make Sorting Hat froth art in your coffee and there’s even a Room of Requirement out back. But possibly the best part of it all is actually in the bathroom.
Yes that’s a toilet, and yes that sign says ‘Ministry of Magic This Way’ with an arrow pointing down the bowl.
If you remember correctly from Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, an underground public toilet cubicle was used by workers at the Ministry of Magic to get to work. The workers would stand in the bowl and flush themselves down the small chute to arrive at the atrium of the Ministry of Magic Headquarters. We probably wouldn’t recommend popping your feet inside this bowl, although some people (not surprisingly) have done just that.

But don’t dismiss this place as just another haven for over-enthused Harry Potter fans; it’s also for fans of great coffee and excellent food. Félix Felicis & Co. have their own specialised local blend of coffee and serve some delicious bagels and sandwiches too.
Accio passport!
