Here are some of our favourite parts of travel: experiencing local culture, seeing beautiful and unusual things (and showing them off to our pals back home), and – of course – eating…like, a lot of eating. We reckon these are totally legit reasons to travel, and we’re not alone.
Contiki are giving the people more of what they want by launching some new limited edition itineraries for Europe that get to the heart of some of today’s most popular travel trends, including a trip with a professional travel Instagrammer, a foodie tour with chefs and a tour of what locals love, complete with stylish boutique hotel stays.
These personalised itineraries tap into three identified trends to give small groups (of 25 people) the things they want the most out of travel.
First up, there’s the Snap tour, where aspiring photographers travel with a professional travel Instagrammer and get tips on how to find the most picturesque spots and how to take the best shot. The nine-day trips visit photogenic cities like Berlin, Prague and Venice.
Next up, the Munch tour is a foodie focused trip which gives insights into some of Europe’s tastiest local food experiences, crafted by European Masterchef judge Thomas Castberg and joined by Aussie chef Dan Churchill and foodie personality Hayden Quinn. Delicious stops include Rome, Barcelona and the South of France.
Finally, there’s the Boutique Local tour, which does the leg work in discovering the hip neighbourhoods and experiences locals love – think hole-in-the-wall bars and buzzing eateries – all while spending the night in stylish boutique hotels. These trips include numerous stops in the cool cities of Spain and Portugal.
