According to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), West African country Sierra Leone is the fastest-growing tourism destination in the world right now.
In 2015, the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the country to be ebola-free, allowing tourists to safely visit without being at risk of infection. As a result, visitor numbers have risen a huge 310%.

But, of course, people are probably visiting because Sierra Leone is a country you need to see to believe. The climate is tropical in nature, with beaches unharmed by tourists and dense, sweeping rainforests. It has an extremely impressive number of natural wildlife like chimpanzees and, according to Lonely Planet, it’s the only place you can see Colobus and Diana monkeys.
For the record, this is what Colobus monkeys look like.

Yep, they are cool as hell. You can check out them and a bunch of other awesome Sierra Leone native animals at the Tiwai Island Wildlife Sanctuary.
After Sierra Leone, the UNWTO declared the second-fastest-growing destination as Nepal, followed by Iceland, South Korea and Moldova.
If the five fastest-growing tourism destinations aren’t on your list already, you better add them quick before even more people find out. You can check out the full list here.
