Melbourne’s New Moon Dog World Is Like A Massive Theme Park Bar With A Pool

We can all agree that we’d rather be lying by a pool with a cocktail in hand than be at work, school, the regular old local bar, or pretty much anywhere, really. Well hold up, because Moon Dog craft brewery has just opened Moon Dog World, a new bar that’s got its own lagoon, deck chairs and palm trees.

Moon Dog World is a massive new brewery space in Preston that’s basically a boozy theme park. Gone are the days when your only options were sitting at the bar or taking a booth – here, you can lay out in a deck chair beside the pool or underneath a waterfall.

And if you ever get bored of that, just wander over to the pinball arcade, head through the rainforest walk, find the hidden Tiki-style bar, or settle down inside a cosy shipping container.

But it wouldn’t be a Moon Dog brewery without a whole heap of brews and cocktails. There are 72 taps, pouring some of Moon Dog’s finest (and weirdest) beers, like the David Boysenberry sour, a pine lime ice cream IPA called the Splice of Heaven, and an alcoholic creaming soda.

The food menu is also an overachiever tbh, offering an insane selection of burgers, share plates, sides and desserts.

Moon Dog announced grand plans for the venue back in March, but the final product is more wonderfully OTT than we could have ever dreamed. You’ll have to explore the massive warehouse to find everything, but you’ll be rewarded with secret bars, hidden discos and lush beer gardens.

And somehow we haven’t even gotten to the best part yet: Moon Dog World is dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend with you to the theme park bar!
