Visit Westeros At This Incredible ‘Game Of Thrones’ Pop-Up Bar In Chicago

game of thrones bar

In anticipation of the final season of Game of Thrones this year, an arcade bar in Chicago has been transformed into the seven kingdoms of Westeros in an immersive pop-up experience. Yes, that’s a Game of Thrones bar at which to drink up like Tyrion himself.

The world is obsessed with Game of Thrones, and for good reason. The world of the fantasy show is incredibly detailed, and aside from the scary monsters, we’d love to explore it all. Exhibitions and themed bars are popping up all over the world to take us just a bit closer to Westeros, and Replay Lincoln Park in downtown Chicago is the latest addition.

The arcade bar has been fitted out with incredible sets and props to recreate Winterfell, the Wall, Casterly Rock, Highgarden and a Dothraki camp. Dragons fly overhead, because this is Westeros after all. Guests can take pictures with White Walkers and at the Wall of Faces and, of course, take their turn sitting on the Iron Throne. This should be mandatory of all Game of Thrones events.

Replay will even be hosting a Red Wedding feast. Don’t worry, murders aren’t a part of the immersive experience.

They’ve teamed up with Brewery Ommegang, the brewers who make the official Game of Thrones beer, to serve limited quantities of the Arbor Gold and Fire and Blood brews throughout the pop-up. There’ll also be plenty of wine and mead available from the bar, as well as a signature Dothraquiri cocktail, which we can only assume is some kind of daiquiri and we are here for it.

Entry to the bar is free, but super fans might want to nab a US$20 (AU$28) VIP ticket. That’ll get them a pint of mead or one of the Ommegang brews in a keepsake goblet on arrival, a commemorative pin or print, plus they’ll be able to skip the queue to get inside.

The Game of Thrones bar pop-up is scheduled to run until March 4. Entry to the bar is free, but tickets for VIP experiences and the Red Wedding feast are available now.
