What: New Orleans’ Voodoo Music & Arts Experience is a one-of-a-kind Halloween inspired event that will bring the spook-factor to America’s deep south.
Where: New Orleans’s huge City Park in Louisiana, USA.
When: Voodoo is held annually at the end of October, to coincide with Halloween. This year’s event takes place on October 30 to November 1.
Fun fact: Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the festival organisers decided to invite police, firefighters, military and countless others who had aided in the recovery efforts of New Orleans to a special Voodoo experience on Halloween weekend. Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age and heaps more came together to celebrate the city following the tragedy that occurred only two months earlier.
Why should you go? Think American Horror Story meets Coachella – this festival brings local New Orleans flavour and heaps of fun to the music scene down south. You can dress up in your coolest Halloween garb and groove along to the likes of headliners Florence + The Machine, Ozzy Osbourne and Deadmau5. You’d be silly to miss it.
