Free Your Inner Nerd At This ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Treehouse

There’s a Hobbit inspired treehouse in North Dakota that will make every Lord Of The Rings fan weak at the knees. It’s called the Chateau de Soleil and you don’t need to be four feet tall or under to stay there.
Nicknamed the Hobbit Treehouse, this spot wouldn’t look out of place in Peter Jackson’s multi-million dollar films – there’s rounded doors and windows, wooden panelling, rustic furniture and a hobbit hideaway in the ceiling. The treehouse comes equipped with a fireplace, a fully-functioning kitchen, two hobbit queen sized beds, and a TV for some essential LOTR viewings.

If you forget to BYO slippers, no worries. Chateau de Soleil has you catered for – there’s big hairy slip-on Hobbit feet ready for you on your arrival, just in case you weren’t born with them already.
For the devoted fans, there’s extra easter eggs to find all over the treehouse – a gauntlet with a (replica) gold ring, a mask worn by Sauron and even some signs in Elvish if you want to practice your fantasy language skills on holiday.

The best part? You can totally stay here. The only catch is, you’ve also got to book the homely country house it’s attached to. Not a bad deal.
Chateau de Soleil costs around $595USD ($841AUD) a night. The main house fits up to 16 people and is equipped with a hot tub and Pac Man themed gaming room that’s home to over 50 arcade games which should keep the non-LOTR fans busy for a day or two.
