If you’ve just about had enough of the nine-to-five and are looking for a cuter way to make some cash, listen up: The Just Cats Veterinary Clinic and Cattery in Dublin, Ireland is on the hunt for a full-time cat cuddler.
This is not a drill.
But, before you start packing your bags (and antihistamines), the job listing does list some of the qualities the purr-fect applicant should possess.
Hopefuls need only apply if they’re a crazy cat person who loves cats, “cattitude” comes naturally to them, they’re known to feed strays, and petting cats makes them feel fuzzy and warm.
“The ideal candidate must have gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of time,” the clinic states in their online job listing. “They need to be softly spoken and capable of cat whispering to calm the nerves of some of our in patients.”
Oh, and the ability to understand different types of purring will be looked upon favourably.
If you’ve answered yes to all of the above, you might just have what it takes. Well, almost. A Veterinary Council of Ireland-recognised qualification is essential for the role, but we’re sure you’re prepared to do what it takes.
