Big W Just Dropped A Rattan Collection You Can Actually Afford

One of the biggest trends in home furnishing this year is rattan — or should I say, the biggest re-emerging trend. While 90s kids will remember them being the cheapo option your parents bought for the single bed you would grow out of in a few years, now it’s back in fashion the price tag has been upped.
Enter Big W and their new, actually affordable rattan homewares range which will be online and in-stores from September 3 to 16.
To demonstrate what I’m talking about with affordability, take the Gigi Rattan Armchair for $149. Just about everywhere else, you’re looking at upwards of $300 for the same style and quality. There’s a kids version too, for $99, which is super cute.
The collection mostly keeps things very neutral with baked desert hues, adding in a few indigo and washed blue tones to make things pop.
How cute is this coffee table (the one below)? The Kodu Nadi Coffee Table with rattan detailing is only $99. Hell, while you’re at it why not get the matching bedside table ($69), entertainment unit ($129) and two-door cabinet ($99).
Or keep it totally neutral with the Kodu Hamilton Rattan Chest of Drawers for $119, with a matching bedside table for $49, and matching console table for $69. I don’t really know what a console table is, but it looks like a hallway table to me? Anyway, it’s cute.
Not to mention the Mirabella Odessa Rattan Table Lamp ($29) and various cute baskets. Did anyone else used to laugh at their mum for being obsessed with useless baskets around the house, then hit 30 and realise they were doing the exact same thing?
Look, guys, I just feel really passionately about rattan and revamping my home for Spring, ok?
