There’s A New Hamper Supporting Local Business And It’s Pretty Damn Joyful

I couldn’t tell you exactly why, but something about receiving nice things in the form of a hamper is so incredibly pleasing. Like, far more so than if I just went and purchased all those things individually.

It’s 2020 and we could all do with some more unique joy, probably in the form of hampers. Good Day People is here to answer that call.

Started by a Sydney couple who turned their attentions to the hampers after COVID put their wedding planning on hold, they created an online gift store with a little extra quirk.

Switching up wicker baskets for brightly coloured cans in five different designs, this range of gift hampers cater to all tastes with items from wine, spirits and individual bottled cocktails to chocolate, teas, kitchen gadgets, books and beauty products.

In these, frankly, messed up times, we’ve started to remember why it’s so important to support local. These hampers hero small Aussie business — like Yulli’s Brews, Distillery Botanica, Mayde Tea and The Horse– and carbon offset their delivery to help our planet.

There are 36 different hampers to choose from at the moment, and a whole lot of prices ranges.

Starting at $49 you have “Beery Barry” with a range of craft beers from Sydney breweries and some roasted macadamias, and “Mature Martha” with a grog-free cocktail and some tasty treats.

On the other end of the price range you have “Laughing Lydia” for $359. This one has an actual watch from The Horse plus wine, cocktail cans, chocolate, a bath soak, a scented candle and more. You get it, she’s a luxe lady.

In case anyone is taking notes or would like to subtly send this link to my friends and family, I’m personally digging the “Tranquil Tracey” because it has a range of my fave tea flavours from local businesses and I’ve been going through my stash like a fiend since work from home started.

Just saying.
