There’s More Than 20 Antipasti Options At The Brand-New Bar Totti’s

Bar Totti's: Antipasti Reigns Supreme At Sydney's New Italian CBD Venue, home delivery

Since opening a little over a year ago, the OG Totti’s in Bondi was our go-to spot for modern Italian food. But now there’s a new kid on the block: none other than Totti’s 2.0 — or Bar Totti’s, as it’s officially known.

Bar Totti’s opens tomorrow (Wednesday, January 15, FYI) in the Ivy on George Street, in the Sydney CDB. The restaurant’s second iteration will have everything that made the original so popular, plus a few extras.

By “a few”, we mean: more than 20 options on the Antipasti menu, snacks from the hibachi grill, a simple but delicious cocktail menu and desserts so heavenly I want to be buried in them, thank you very much.

The fluffy, woodfired bread has always been the star ingredient of Totti’s antipasti menu. At Bar Totti’s, the menu has been expanded. Now you can pair the bread with four cheeses including burrata, baked tomino, ricotta and provolone. There’s a fine selection of cold-cut meats like proscuitto, salami and pancetta on offer, plus tasty bites like olives, mushrooms, octopus, mussels and melon.

The grills pump out dishes like halloumi, king prawns with chilli and fennel, squid with smoked pork and chilli, grilled fish and chicken with honey and rosemary.

And for dessert, pick from much-loved Totti’s favourites — and yes, the the tiramisu and Neopolitan ice cream sandwich have been brought over.

Drinks are simple, inspired by retro-Italian classics with a focus on spritzes and after-dinner cocktails.

Oh, and there’s something called “Carbzilla”. Currently a stand-out of the daily specials, carbzilla — or the mushroom timballo — is made from hand-rolled egg pasta, parmesan, butter pastry and cream. Totti’s head chef Mike Eggert told Broadsheet that the team plan on baking a few every day to serve by the slice until sold out, so get in quick.

Bar Totti’s is open “until late” every night, and will have DJs playing live sets every night between Wednesday and Sunday. It’s a walk-in only venue, making it the perfect spot to start or end the night if you find yourself out in the CBD with a hunger for some fun Italian fare (always).
