While we already spied some of the early entries late last year, the 2016 Sony World Photography Awards have finally announced a shortlist for their prestigious competition – and boy, are they pretty.
The awards, now in their eighth year, are the world’s biggest photography exhibition and showcase some of the best contemporary photography from across the world. 270 photographers from over 60 countries have been shortlisted for this year’s competition, with the winner earning a mammoth $30,000USD in cash prizes. Winners will also get an unprecedented amount of exposure thanks to the World Photography Organisation, as well as a swag bag full of camera goodies from Sony.
