Qantas passengers flying from Sydney to Singapore were treated to a a different kind of inflight entertainment over the weekend; a serenade in the sky from one of Australia’s best orchestras.
The nine-piece Australian World Orchestra ensemble took to the aisles on board flight QF81 on Friday September 30 to serenade some 300 passengers with their rendition of Ravel’s famous ‘Bolero’. Called the ‘Symphonic Serenade in the Sky’, the orchestra got a round of applause from passengers and crew at the end of their five minute show, with encore performances played to each of the cabins in the aircraft. Talk about inflight entertainment!
The sky-high serenade was captured by a Qantas crew member; check it out below. Passengers have started using the #FlyingOrchestra hashtag to share their own videos and photos.
