Sure they’re all special in their own way, but this is probably the most unique snowflake of them all. Because it is giant, tethered to Norway’s beautiful fjords, and you can sleep inside of it.
Architects from Dutch Docklands are currently working on a five-star floating hotel called Krystall designed to look like a snowflake.
Sitting in the Arctic Circle in the fjords near the Norwegian town of Tromso, the glass roof structure will let visitors view the night sky above, famous for being one of the most common places to see the aurora borealis (or the northern lights) in the world.
The hotel will be over 120 metres wide and contain 86 rooms plus spa and wellness facilities. It aims to be completely self supporting and self sustainable.
The hotel is set to open in 2017.
