A Winter Village Pop-Up Is Travelling Australia, Complete With Snow And Ice-Skating

Winter in Australia is less snow and magic, and more just cold and rainy. Sure, you can now head over to New Zealand for the ski trip of a lifetime, or you can stay closer to home.  That’s thanks to one alpine-inspired winter wonderland pop up is looking to give us a little taste of a white winter.

The Winter Village will pop up in four Aussie cities, starting from May. You can expect an ice skating rink, an igloo village, daily snow showers plus cosy comfort food and drinks.

“We’re still very restricted in the travel plans we can make, so we’re thrilled to be able to create an escape close to home this winter,” said Activations Operations Manager Selena Majumdar.

“We’ve gone all out this year and we are so excited to bring The Winter Village to Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth for the first time, as well as return to Melbourne. It’s perfect for a novel night out with friends, a fun day in with the family or for a unique event with clients”.

Entry into the village is free, but you can pre-book ice skating passes for 45-minute sessions from $24 for adults.

You can jazz your visit up a bit, though, by booking a private igloo which can fit two to five people starting from $49 per person. That includes a grazing plate, plenty of other nibbles, a choice of wine or beer, and an ice cream sandwich for dessert.
