This “buttery and chunky” pie (according to the bakers) showcases Young Henry’s brew, Motor Oil Porter, amongst tender beef chunks, mushrooms, onions, celery, carrots and red capsicum.
After cooking the beef, Sonoma allows it to braise in Young Henry’s beer until the meat falls apart. It’s not just a unique and tasty flavour in the filling though, they’ve also made the dough with butter pate brisee and Motor Oil beer, giving it a unique colour and bitterness.
The pie will be hitting Sonoma bakeries later this month as part of a new hot and savoury range championing flaky, delicious, and hot pastry items in time for the winter.
As part of the range, they’ll also be adding a new pork, apple and carrot sausage roll, a curried veggie sausage roll, three new quiches and a range of empanadas.
You can get the pie at all Sonoma bakeries, plus the pie will e popping up at the Young Henry’s brewery on 76 Wilfrod Street, in Sydney’s Newtown on the following dates:
- Friday 23rd April, 3pm – 7pm
- Saturday 15th May, 12pm – 7pm
