Brisbane Is About To Cop Australia’s Only W Hotel

W Hotels are know for their bold, modern design, state-of-the-art amenities and totally Instagram-worthy pools (see below). Marriott International has today announced the W Brisbane will open in 2018 – making it the first five-star hotel to open in the Queensland capital’s CBD in two decades.

While W Brisbane isn’t Australia’s first, it will be the only one in the country after the W Sydney closed down about a decade ago.

Located at 300 George Street, along the Brisbane River foreshore, the new hotel will boast impeccable views across South Bank and Mount Coot-tha.

It’ll have a staggering 312 guestrooms, 31 suites, and the Extreme Wow Suite – the company’s modern interpretation of the Presidential Suites of days gone by (read: it’s gonna be super slick). All rooms will be adorned with custom furnishings inspired by Queensland’s heritage and the laidback vibe the city oozes.

Coming with it are all the trimmings you can find at W hotels around the world, like Whenever/Wherever service, on-site restaurants and bars, pool area, spa, and a DJ booth in the lobby for good measure.
