This Tokyo Candy Store Serves Enormous Rainbow Fairy Floss
The iconic Harajuku district in Shibuya, Tokyo, is famed for its eccentric youth culture, over-the-top fashion, and now, oversized rainbow treats.
Totti Candy Factory slings enormous servings of rainbow fairy floss, or wata-gashi, and they’re bigger than your head — literally.
Totti Candy Factory has four stores dotted across Japan, but the infamous rainbow creation is exclusive to their Harajuku store. The candy curators construct the monstrous creations right before your eyes, and come one of three ways: triple layer, quadruple layer, or moulded in the shape of a heart.
While the stores have become famous for their fairy floss creations, the assortment of sugary goods doesn’t end there. All four stores have an extensive selection of cute lollies, kawaii treats and cake pops.
If the thought of consuming all that sugar in one go sounds like a bit much, takeaway options are available.
All stores draw massive crowds, so it’s best to get there around midday to avoid the queues. The rainbow fairy floss creations start at $7 (¥600).
