This Hands-Free Suitcase Follows You Around Like A Puppy Dog

When we talk about the future of travel, a lot of the conversation is locked in on virtual reality, advancements in aircrafts, non-passport travel and the like. But if we’re completely honest with ourselves, the future of travel is all about one thing – robots.

Robots can already book our holidays and staff our hotels so it only seems logical that every inch of travel will be inundated by these electronic friends ready to make our journeys safer, comfier and a whole lot simpler. The newest addition to the robot spectrum? A suitcase that follows you around using Bluetooth. What a time to be alive.

NUA Robotics released the specs for this innovative travel accessory at this year’s Consumer Electronic Show, which is basically the place where any and all good tech inventions are unveiled (this year some incredible mind thought up a fridge that lets you see what’s inside without having to open the door – genius).

The suitcase is 100 percent hands-free and uses Bluetooth to shadow you (well, your phone, actually) and follow you wherever you go. This means you’ll never have to carry/drag/curse the heavens over a heavy travel bag ever again. The bag has a built in camera sensor so it’ll be able to dodge obstacles and can send you real time updates on its location and weight (handy when you forget to weigh your carry on before boarding). And if you’re worried about theft, don’t be – there’s a strong lock system in place in case anyone with a regular boring suitcase gets any funny ideas.

Not only is the NUA suitcase independently following you around, it can even charge your devices on the go. You’ll be able to charge your smartphone, tablet, camera or even your computer while you make your way through airport security. It’s a deadset miracle.

While it’s still early stages of production on the suitcase, there is an option to enter a raffle on NUA’s site to win a free suitcase when they’re ready to be shipped. You’re going to want to get in on this one.
