These Otherworldly Airbnbs Look Like Something Out Of Star Wars
www.awol.com.au
The force is strong with a these places – so much so we reckon they kind of resemble something from George Lucas’ epic Star Wars universe. From the forest moon of Endor to the urban city of Coruscant, these properties wouldn’t look out of place in a galaxy far, far away. But luckily they’re right here on Earth – and you can totally stay there thanks to Airbnb.
There’s still a few months until Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens hits theatres so these other-worldly locations will just have to be enough to fill your Star Wars void until December.

#1 Bonita Domes, California
Looking a lot like Anakin Skywalker’s childhood home from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, the Bonita Domes near Joshua Tree in California are a pretty close match to the deserts of Tatooine. These earthy domes, which are located about two hours east of Los Angeles, are an eco-chic way to embrace a simpler lifestyle – you know, so you can focus on building podracers and C-3PO in your spare time.

#2 Nakagin Capsule Tower, Tokyo
The historical Nakagin Capsule Tower is a pretty nifty place to stay in Tokyo, especially because it was the very first capsule hotel built for use in Japan. The cosy architecture bears a striking resemblance to Coruscant, the galactic city that’s covered in urban sprawl – you may remember in Star Wars II: Attack Of The Clones, Anakin and Obi Wan had to dodge a few skyscrapers on a chase around the crowded city.
#3 Bamboo Houses, Ubud
Hidden in a valley along Bali’s Ayung River, these bamboo houses are a pretty unique sight – one in particular, the Sunrise house, is made entirely from black and white bamboo and comprises of an impressive four storeys above the treetops. There’s three bedrooms, three ensuite bathrooms, a kitchen, lounge room, dining area, a plunge pool and an office work area on the top floor with incredible views of the surrounding regions. It’s the perfect spot to do some Ewok spotting, we reckon, as this little hideaway wouldn’t look too out of place on the forest moon of Endor.
#4 Studio Earthship, New Mexico
This property is an eco dream – it catches rainwater, generates it’s own electricity and stays at a temperate 22 degrees year round. And with a name like “earthship” this place is kind of asking for it – it kind of reminds us of a Sandcrawler, those huge slow treaded vehicles that are used for transportation and accommodation on Tatooine.
#5 Geo Dome, Upstate New York
We know this last one is a little bit of a stretch but bear with us – the outside is kind of a dead ringer for the Death Star – you know, if it crash landed in upstate New York and now functions as a funky weekend hideaway. Hey, it could happen!
