There’s A Vintage Airstream Hotel Opening On A Melbourne Rooftop

First there was St Jerome’s – The Hotel, Melbourne’s first rooftop glamping experience. Now the city is about to get even more ~Melbourne~ with a first-class airstream hotel on a car park rooftop.

Notel Melbourne is “not a hotel”, but a set of six vintage Airstreams transported in from the US. The pet project of James Fry, owner of Fry’s Fast Park, the project will see these chrome trailers completely refitted as designer urban accommodation.

The space has been given a laneway-inspired paint of coat by local artist Ash Keating

Located on a disused rooftop in Flinders Lane, each Airstream will feature an ensuite bathroom with full-height shower, a double bed, premium linen, throws and robes. An individual split system will keen you warm, and there’s even complimentary craft beer (is there even any other kind in Melbourne?), wine and water available in the bar fridge.

Each Airstream comes with a tablet loaded with a virtual city guide, as well as complimentary movies and music.

As of publication, Notel is still finishing off the final touches on their space, so they aren’t yet taking bookings. Keep up to date by signing up for their newsletter here.
