8 Of Sydney’s Swankiest Day Spas For The Ultimate Indulgence

Sydney's best day spas

Sometimes life demands that you drop what you’re doing and take time out to swan around in a plush robe and be pampered like Royalty. Luckily, that’s a very easy thing to do if you’re in the big smoke and Sydney‘s best day spas varied and many.

Having someone else’s hands work their magic on your face and body is one of life’s pleasures and no one should deprive themselves of it. If you’re overdue for some R&R then these are eight of Sydney’s best day spas with swank factor that should do nicely.

CHI, The Spa at The Shangri-La Hotel, The Rocks

The Shangri-La epitomises elegance and luxury and CHI is no different. This spa, named after the universal life force that governs wellbeing and personal vitality in traditional Chinese philosophy, specialises in natural healing and wellness methods to offer a unique experience, spanning massages, facials and body treatments that are designed to heal, soothe and create a sense of internal peace.

Gillian Adams Salon And Spa, Turramurra

Over on the upper North Shore, Gillian Adams Salon And Spa is a veritable pamper palace. This oasis offers an aquamedic pool (which has a decidedly Greco-Roman feel), steam room, hydrotherapy bath, restaurant and hair and beauty salon. There’s also a lovely garden to appreciate post session.

Crown Towers has made quite the mark on Sydney’s hotel scene since its opening in late December, 2020. A destination synonymous with luxury, the Crown Spa follows suit promising a world-class wellness sanctuary. Expect science-led La Prairie facial treatments as well as massages, mani pedis and the other options you come to expect of a spa of this caliber.

But a point of difference at Crown Spa is the addition of Psammotherapy to their menu, the first of its kind in Australia. Known as ‘hot sand therapy’, you’ll experience treatments performed on a mineral Quartz bed using a base of warm, golden alpha-quartz sand.

You may recognise its stunning 20-metre indoor pool complete with twinkling night sky ceiling overhead, but this underground spa sanctuary has a range of luxury facials (the Dr Babor is their signature) and massages to suit the most picky of peeps. Like most things at the QT, this spa experience isn’t your usual. The signature SpaQ within the Market Street hotel is a bold, dark and moody escape with its own barbershop. A few treatment rooms even occupy the old Gowings Barbershop, with original tiling, wooden floors, and stain glass ceilings remaining.

Gentlemen can book in for a hot-towel treatment for beard care or the super popular Mr Bond treatment. Plus, there’s the usual scrubs, facials, massages and more. Top things off post-sesh with a glass of bubbles and oysters at the hotel bar.
