No matter which location you’re heading to (and yes, there are still tickets left so better get in quick), they’ve all got amazing eats, stays and activities to keep you entertained well after the music finishes. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Gosford

Ah, the Central Coast, the place of my childhood. It also happens to be bloody beautiful and has really upped its foodie game since I moved away over 10 years ago.

Book an epic rental, shop your way around Long Jetty, eat until your heart is content, and be sure to visit the famous Mr Black Distillery for their cold brew coffee liqueur.

Batemans Bay

The South Coast doesn’t get enough recognition for its beauty and good food, so make the most of it. Get out on the water and hire a kayak to paddle around Clyde River National Park. While you’re getting in touch with nature, don’t forget to take a walk through Murramarang National Park too.

As for food, you haven’t been to Batemans Bay without a stop off at The Oyster Shed. Close, but not too far, you also have the iconic Jervis Bay Brewing Co and Rick Stein At Bannisters at Mollymook Beach.

Mudgee

Well obviously, when in Mudgee, you need to visit as many wineries as possible — there’s a reason it was voted on Tripadvisor as one of just three places the whole world is desperate to visit as soon as the orders open.

You can check out our full out-of-towner guide here, but make sure The Zin HouseMoothi Estate and Mudgee Brewing Co are on your list. You can also get a little adventurous with a hot air balloon ride over the vineyards, or a little star-gazing at The Mudgee Observatory.

Tamworth

Home of the famous Big Guitar and a little country music festival that didn’t go ahead in 2021, Tamworth has a lot more to it than meets the eye.

From luxe hotels to the best places to eat (be sure to try the Vietnamese delights at Miss Juju’s), check out our ultimate guide here. You’ll absolutely e missing out if you don’t take a cultural tour of the area with local Indigenous elder Len Waters — you’ll see the land in a whole new way.

Port Macquarie

We just happen to be in whale season, folks, and the Coastal Walk in Port Macquarie is one of the best places to spot them for free. Also, make a stop at The Port Macquarie Lighthouse.

To treat your foodie cravings, check out our guide to eating like a local here — TLDR: start off with Bills Fish House, LVs On Clarence and The Stunned Mullet.
