Sydney Botanic Garden Is Having A Massive Plant Sale, So Get Ready To Load Up On Some New Babies

Plant parents, assemble! Many of us learned to turn our love and attention onto sweet little plant babies during lockdown, and I must say that urge hasn’t gone anywhere for me. In fact my collection just keeps growing — possibly because I’ve finally worked out how to stop killing them.
Of course, this habit can be a bit of a budget breaker (especially if you killed so many of your plants by smothering them with love), so we love a good plant sale. And who better to provide epic plants for your humble abode than the Sydney Royal Botanic Garden themselves?
YEP!
The Royal Botanic Garden is holding a huge and very cheap sale to get rid of all the plants in their Calyx feature wall that’s been on display the last few months.
For two weeks from October 27 until November 6, the plant sale will run every day from 10:00am to 4:00pm. It’s a pretty specific sale, with white princettia up for grabs in week one, and white, pink and rose princettia on sale during the second week.
They’re going for a teensy $5 each, or three for $10, which is obviously a bargain considering they’re normally closer to $30. Just remember to BYO bags or boxes to carry them home in, and your credit card as there will be no cash transactions (Covid is still a thing). Find more details here.
What are princetta? They’re these gorgeous little colourful babies:
Apparently they grow up to two metres tall, and aren’t too difficult to look after (but that’s what they always say). Prefering a strong, filtered light and a little pruning after flowering.
Go on, get your newest family member.
