Redfern Surf Club Is Celebrating Summer With A Massive Block Party
Despite its distance from, you know, an actual beach, Redfern Surf Club is sliding right its second big summer.
The popular watering hole, which opened its doors just over a year ago, has announced plans for a free outdoor block party in its expansive car park on Saturday November 30. The festivities are set to spill out beyond the venue’s walls for an open-air party that has everything except a sea breeze. They’re throwing the party with help from their friends at Wayward Brewing Co.
The imbibing options include a Raspberry Sour Pop Up for beer fans, a stall for nattie wines and the equally enticing cocktail and slushie pop-up bar, with creations like the Sour Dog and the frozen Clover Club.
[related_articles]56727[/related_articles]With the block party running from midday to midnight, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to visit (and revisit) the PigOut food truck for Tex-Mex Asian fusion creations. Jalapeno mac n’ cheese spring rolls, taco dumplings with guac and sour cream dip, a Tex-Mex-inspired beef or veggie burger. You get the picture.
And then there’s the tunes. The day-into-night lineup features a selection of Sydney’s finest selectors, who’ll dig deep for the best tunes to accompany an alcoholic slushie. The day portion features Jack Shit, Le Fruit x Mr Friendly and Bea Goode, while Ariane, Purple Sneakers DJs and Shantan Wantan Ichiban have the after-dark shift.
The summer block party is strictly a one-day-only affair, with the car park returning to its regular life on Sunday. An old-school handball comp is also on the agenda, although such exertion is strictly optional.
Chuck the date in your diary and head to Redfern Surf Club on the day to make a day (and evening) of it, why don’t you.
