Make Like Kevin McCallister And Celebrate Christmas At The Plaza

Remember that scene in Home Alone 2: Lost In New York, where Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) – somehow separated from his family for the second Christmas in a row – gorges himself on array of desserts at a fancy hotel, all on his dad’s dime?
That fancy hotel was New York’s iconic Plaza Hotel and, to celebrate the equally iconic Christmas film’s 25th anniversary, it’s giving grown-ups the chance to live Kevin’s adventure for themselves with a Home Alone-inspired accommodation package.
Of course, the package features an impressive in-room menu, including the “over-the-top ice cream sundae”, and a veritable smorgasbord of American ’90s-inspired dishes, like Lunchables, SpaghettiOs and Hot Pockets at the nearby Todd English Food Hall.
On top of that, guests who book the Live Like Kevin package will be treated to a four-hour limousine tour of New York (though it’s BYO cheese pizza) and the chance to create that heart-pumping Central Park scene for themselves (with a photographer on hand, obviously), along with express passes to the Empire State Building and Wollman Rink.

There’s no word yet on whether one-time Home Alone cameo-er and current president Donald Trump will revive his part for the festive season.
The Plaza hosts several themed accommodation experiences, including a bubblegum-pink suite dedicated to fictional Disney character, Eloise, and a Gatsby-themed suite inspired by author F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife, Zelda, who regularly visited the hotel during the Jazz Age.
Or, if you’re feeling brave, consider The Gregory’s Stranger Things-themed hotel room while you’re in town.
The Live Like Kevin package is available from Friday, December 1, 2017, to Monday, October 29, 2018. Rates start at $1185 ($895USD).
