Only One Australian City Is Among The World’s Best 30

While Melbourne may hold claim to being a near-perfect city by regularly ranking high on the world’s most liveable city lists, it’s actually another Australian city that pipped the Victorian city at the post on Conde Nast‘s Best Cities in the World: Readers’ Choice Awards for 2015.
Sydney has swooped in in a blaze of glory to take out the #4 spot on the list, and while Melburnians might cry over their soy chai lattes, Sydney will stay #blessed by its natural beauty and vibrant culture that helped it take out this high-ranking accolade.

Conde Nast names Sydney’s al fresco dining and many beaches as the city’s main draw card. They even name-check Sydney’s hip culture and light festival Vivid Sydney, as well as the glass viewing platform at Sydney Tower as the best place to get a nice view of the sprawling city.

Over 128,000 readers contributed to the American-based magazine’s annual survey – the biggest in Conde Nast‘s history – with the results revealing that travellers are fond of a wide variety of cities, from the bustling metropolis of Hong Kong, to the seaside city of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada, all the way to the number one spot, which was taken out by Florence in Italy.
Florence is the third Italian city on Conde Nast‘s list, proving travellers from all over still feel the allure of Italy’s history, culture and carb-loaded delicacies.
